Description:

The serial number on this 1851 Navy dates to 1854 but writer believes it be of 20th Century manufacture. It features brass cone and hammer notch sights, a replacement walnut grip, British proofmarks on the left side of the barrel and between the nipples, "-ADDRESS COLT LONDON-" on the top of the barrel, "COLTS/PATENT" on the left side of the frame, the naval battle roll scene, and matching serial numbers. The modern case has a blue felt lined interior and contains a power flask, combination tool, Colt patent bullet mold, two paper cartridges, and an empty Eley Bros. cap tin. The inside of the lid has a "DIRECTIONS FOR LOADING COLT'S PISTOLS" label.

Rating Definition:

Near mint as custom made. The revolver has only minor handling and storage marks. The blue finish on the front strap/trigger guard has a more plum tone. The action is excellent, and the markings are crisp. The case is fine with general storage type wear including some stains on the interior and a crack in the lid. The accessories are fine.
