Description:

The Remington-Rider Pocket percussion revolver was designed by Joseph Rider who moved to Ilion, NY, from Ohio. The Remington-Rider was one of the first double action revolvers manufactured in significant quantities (estimated 2,000) in the U.S. and was produced from around 1860 until 1873. This example has the early dovetailed cone front and standard frame groove rear sights. The top barrel flat has the two-line Remington address/Rider's patent marking, and the matching serial number is marked on the bottom of the barrel, frame ahead of the trigger, and underside of both grip panels. It has primarily a blue finish with German silver trigger guard and checkered grips.

Rating Definition:

Fine. The revolver retains 50% plus of the original blue finish with a brown patina on the balance. The trigger guard has a lightly aged patina. The grips are very good and have an aged coloration and crisp checkering. The action is fine, and the markings are generally crisp.
