Description:

This Model 1884 rifle has the standard markings and features including the proper "R" marked Buffington rear sight, and an rectangular "SWP/1889" cartouche is stamped on the left side of the straight grip walnut stock. The buttplate appears to be a replacement as it has a different style "US" marking.

Rating Definition:

Fine. 60% of the original blue finish remains and 50% of fiery case colors are visible on the breechblock. There are scattered areas of mild oxidation and some spots of pitting. The stock is also fine with crisp cartouches and scattered storage dents and scratches overall. The action is excellent, and the markings are legible.
