This is an attractive example of a custom engraved Colt Single Action Army revolver that was manufactured in 1921 and subsequently custom engraved and embellished by the famous Master Engraver Cole Agee. The revolver is almost completely covered with cattle brand engraving and the brands are well executed in the typical Western style with the recognizable "5HR", "J5", YJ" and many other famous Texas brands with a stippled background. The only area not covered with engraving are the cylinder flutes. In addition to the cattle brands, the top of the back strap has a power pole and along the back strap is a signature. "E???? W????ely". The top of the ejector housing has a floral pattern. The top of the barrel is marked with the one address, "45 COLT" on the left side and the two line, three patent dates are marked on the left side of the frame followed by the Rampant Colt. The matching serial number appears on the bottom of the frame, trigger guard and the back strap. The revolver appears to have been finished in gold plating. The revolver is fitted with a smooth one piece grip.

Very fine as custom embellished. The metal surfaces have a smooth dark patina. Much of the gold finish remaining on the hammer. There are scattered traces of gold finish in protected areas. The grip is good with a small chip on each toe, some minor age cracking and an attractive pattern and patina. The engraving and markings are crisp and clear. The action is fine.
