Manufactured in 1956, the first year of Single Action Army production following the Second World War. Fixed blade front sight and frame notch rear sight. Barrel is marked with the one line Hartford address on top, "COLT SINGLE ACTION ARMY .45" and the left side of the frame is marked with the two line, three patent date marking followed by the Rampant Colt. The Colt "VP" triangle proof is marked on the left side front of the trigger guard bow and the matching serial number appears on the frame and under the grip on the left side of the front and back straps. Complete with a Colt black box with "COLT" logo on the lid and correct end label.

Excellent. The revolver retains 95% plus of the original blue finish with some minor muzzle wear, flaking on the back strap, thinning on the front strap and a drag line on the cylinder. The frame retains 99% of the bright original case colors. The grips are excellent with a couple minor handling marks and sharp checkering. The box is good overall. The lid has come loose at the seam in the back and the hinged flap has been glued to the body of the box. There are a few minor scuffs and minor corner wear.
