Description:

This excellent pair of nickel Single Action Army revolvers was manufactured in 1969. The included factory letter confirms that they were ordered as part of a consecutive set of three revolvers (order #11885) and were originally shipped to Swanson Custom Firearms Ltd. In Denver, Colorado, in February 1970 in their current configuration. Wilkeron's survey of the Second Generation revolvers did not uncover any matching three gun .357 magnum revolver sets which suggests that, if the third revolver is located, this would almost certainly be the only documented three gun set of consecutive revolvers in this configuration. They have the standard markings and features of the 2nd Generation revolvers. Don Wilkerson in THE POSTWAR COLT SINGLE ACTION ARMY, 1955-1975 notes that there were only 222 nickel consecutive pairs of 2nd Generation SAA produced and of those, only six special order consecutive sets are recorded in .357 Magnum with 4 3/4 inch barrels. Only a total of 616 nickel plated 2nd Generation Single Action Army revolvers were made in .357 Magnum with the 4 3/4 inch barrel length. The revolver is fitted with checkered grips with the Rampant Colt on top and the American Eagle emblem on the bottom. The "VP" in a triangle proofmark is marked on the front left of the trigger guard, a "V" on the back left, and an "E" is on the front right of the trigger guard. The frame and grip straps are stamped with the matching number "52362SA", and the partial "362" is marked on the face of the cylinder and underside of the grips. The loading gate and right rear of the frame have the assembly number "521". The original factory stagecoach box is numbered to the gun and contains the manual.

Rating Definition:

Near new in box. The fine box has some corner and edge wear.

B) Colt Single Action Army Revolver

Manufacturer: Colt
Model: Single Action Army
Type: Revolver
Gauge: 357 mag
Barrel: 4 3/4 inch round
Finish: nickel
Grip: hard rubber
Stock:
Item Views: 1123
Serial Number:
Catalog Page: 186
Class: Curio & Relic Handgun
Description:

As described in A but with the serial number "52363SA" and the assembly number "522" (note it is consecutive with gun A). The included factory stagecoach box is numbered to the gun and contains a manual.

Rating Definition:

Near new in box with some light handling/storage marks. The box has only slight storage type wear. If the third revolver was located, this would complete what is possibly the only three gun consecutive set in .357 Magnum. None are recorded by in Wilkerson's survey.
