This is a magnificent special order, custom built, engraved and gold inlaid, Model 21 double barrel shotgun with two sets of barrels and case manufactured by Connecticut Shotgun Manufacturing Company. One set of barrels is 410 gauge (#2), and the other is 20 gauge (#1). The 410 set is 27 inches in length, and the 20 gauge is 28 inches in length. Both sets have dual bead sights on a matted vent rib, are choke WS-1 and WS-2, have ejectors, the matching serial number, and jeweled lugs and flats. Both have a 3 inch wedge of floral scroll engraving on the breech ends. The 20 gauge set is chambered 2 3/4 inches and the 410 3 inch. Each has its own Grade AA fancy fleur-de-lis checkered forearm with contrasting forend insert, floral scroll engraved hardware, jeweled inner hardware and numbered to the gun. The 410 gauge latch lug and inner forearm metal are numbered "2" and the 20 gauge "1". The underside of each set are marked "CT. SHOTGUN MFG./NEW BRITAIN, CT. U.S.A.", and each right side flat is marked with the gauge and chamber depth. The receiver is nicely engraved with floral scroll patterns surrounding a gold inlaid hunting dog on each side in an oval panel, and two pheasants in a wooded scene on the bottom. The same engraving pattern extends to the break lever, trigger guard and upper and lower tang. In addition, there is a gold inlaid dogs head on the trigger guard. The receiver also features feather design bordering and the fences have a relief engraved oak leafs and acorns. Gold washed single trigger with selector and tang mounted automatic safety with gold inlaid "SAFE" (faded). Mounted with Grade AA, fancy fleur-de-lis, hand checkered American walnut straight grip stock with a checkered bare butt and gold initial oval. Length of pull is 14 3/8 inches. Complete in a leather case with leather corner protectors, double straps and handle, and red felt lining. In the case is a two piece wooden cleaning rod for each barrel set, nickel snap caps for each set (the 20 gauge are marked "WINCHESTER"), a nickel oiler and cleaning rod attachments. The case also comes with a green outer canvas cover. Stock measurements are: Drop at comb 1 13/32 inches; Drop at heel 2 1/32 inches; 0 cast; 1/4 inch toe in; Overall weight 6 Lbs. 14.2 Oz.

Excellent. The receiver, trigger guard and 410 barrels retain 99% plus original blue finish with only light handling/storage marks. The 20 gauge set retains 95% original blue finish with some minor flaking and forearm wear on the underside. Unless noted above, all of the gold inlay remains. 50% of the gold wash on the trigger remains. The stock and both forearms are also excellent with only a few minor handling marks and sharp checkering. The engraving is crisp and clear. Mechanically excellent. The case is excellent on the exterior and very good interior with the label for the inside of the lid being absent, and the lining showing some wear, pilling and staining. The canvas cover is good.
