Introduced in 1949, the 11-48 was the first new semi-auto shotgun introduced by Remington following World War Two. Twin nickel bead sights on the barrel, with a Lyman Cutts compensator mounted on the muzzle, the two line patent and address markings on the right side of the barrel, and the 3 inch or shorter shells chamber markings on the reverse. The barrel, receiver and trigger guard are floral scroll engraved with dot-bordered 2 1/4 inch engraved wedges on either side of the breech, wavy line and punch dot borders on the frame edges, light leaf-style accents at the front and rear of the receiver, and a starburst on the rear of the operating handle. Mounted on a extra fancy burl walnut stock with fine angled panels of checkering on the beavertail forearm and pistol grip, a steel Remington grip cap with Fleur-de-Lis accents and a serrated Remington plastic buttplate. Length of pull is 13 3/4 inches.

Near new with only slight handling marks overall. The wood is excellent with crisp checkering and highly attractive grain, well beyond what is usually seen on a shotgun of this grade. Mechanically excellent. A truly extraordinary highly desirable .410 that would fit in the highest grade collection.
