Description:

This is a fine example of a DWM Model 1906 first issue Navy Luger that is complete with an unmarked black leather Navy length Luger holster. The top of the chamber is blank and the front toggle is stamped with the standard DWM logo markings. It has the rust blued metal finish with the straw colored smaller parts and checkered walnut grips. This example is numbered with the full serial number stamped on the front of the frame and underside of the barrel followed by the "c" serial number letter suffix code. It does not have the standard Imperial Navy markings found on Navy lugers, instead it has only a single small "Crown/M" Navy proof on the underside of the barrel over the serial number. This specific pistol still retains it first position "GESICHERT" safety markings in the lower safety area with the standard "Geladen" extractor markings. It is fitted with the a six inch Navy barrel with a standard front sight and the two position "100/200" meter Navy type rear sight, 1906 type grip safety and stock lug. It is complete with a nickel plated magazine with a wooden base with concentric circles on the side. The base is stamped "Cal 9m/m".

Rating Definition:

Very fine with 85% of the original blue finish overall with wear and blue loss on the edges and high spots overall with light brown pitting/oxidation on the front and rear grip straps. The various smaller parts retain 25% of their original straw colors overall. The walnut grips are in fine condition with nice visible checkering showing wear over the tops of the checkering mixed with some light handling marks on both sides. The holster is in fair condition with a nice all black color with light age cracking on the face of the leather overall. The side and flap stitching is intact however the cleaning rod pouch and stitching material has been removed from the side of the holster.
