Description:

This is an excellent example of a post WWI DWM Model 1920 Artillery Luger manufactured during the Weimar era. The majority of all these post war Lugers originally started out as WWI issued military Lugers that were later completely rebuilt or overhauled and then sold as commercial Lugers, both inside Europe and the United States. This example has an undated chamber with the standard "DWM" logo on the toggle. It is fitted with the standard 8 inch artillery barrel which is void of any proof marks or serial number. It is fitted with the correct style artillery tangent rear sight graduated 1-8 (100-800 meters) along with a standard front sight. It has the "GESICHERT" and "LOADED", safety and extractor markings. It is numbered in the commercial style with the full serial number (6710a) on the front of the frame with "GERMANY" stamped directly below that. The last two digits of the serial number are only stamped on the trigger and takedown lever, with the rear of the breech bolt numbered 64. It is fitted with a post war set of light colored beech grips that are also unnumbered. It is complete with a standard WWI type tin-plated magazine with an unnumbered wooden base.

Rating Definition:

Excellent. With 97% plus of the original blue overall with wear on the edge and high spots, with some blue loss on the side plate hump and thinning on the center section of the barrel. The front end and side of the barrel extension is turning a light brown patina color. The small parts retain 75% of their straw colors evenly fading overall. The grips are in excellent plus condition with minimal handling marks.
