Description:

According to Colt's factory records, this pistol was part of a group of 14 shipped out on March 2, 1943, to the U.S. Government Ordnance Property Officer at the Pentagon in Washington, D.C., with "Attn: Capt. Volberg" and "Finish: Blue" noted on the letter. Captain Volberg has not been positively identified, and although this pistol bears the inspection mark "G.H.D." (Brigadier General Guy H. Drewry, the Springfield Armory officer who served as Colt's on-site inspector circa 1942-1945) on the trigger guard, it is not a "U.S. PROPERTY" marked military contract 1908. Instead it has the high-polish Colt commercial blue finish and markings. The exact circumstances behind this "semi-commercial" configuration are unknown. With a pair of checkered Colt medallion grips and a two-tone magazine with "CAL.380/COLT" on the base.

Rating Definition:

Excellent with 98% original blue finish showing some light dings and scratches on the slide and a few mild handling marks overall. The grips are very fine with some pressure dents and dark spots. Mechanically excellent.
