Description:

This pistol has "G. BANCHI" on the lock and "L. LAZARINO" on the top of the ribbed rear section of the barrel. Banchi, a gun and lock maker in Florence, Italy, was active in the mid-1700s, and the Lazarino/Cominazzo family traces its firearms and barrel making history back into seventeenth century Brescia. This pistol may have been built by either of the two parties using components partially purchased from the other. The stock and furniture have coordinating floral engraving and carving patterns.

Rating Definition:

Good. The pistol has primarily a gray patina with some areas of light pitting and oxidation. The stock is good as revarnished and repaired and has some cracks, a loose bone forend cap and chips around the inlets. The action needs some work. The markings are clear.
