Manufactured circa 1942-1943. U.S. inspected Commando revolvers were issued to state militia forces, security teams at war-essential industrial centers, and similar "home front" applications. Fixed sights, the standard two-block address, patent, model and caliber markings on the barrel, the "VP" Colt proof and an inverted "A" on the left side of the triggerguard, and "G.H.D." and a flaming ordnance bomb above the cylinder release. The back strap is stamped "279". Fitted with a pair of checkered Rampant Colt grips. With a black leather "US" flap holster marked "FFLD ENG/7791495".

Very fine with 95% original parkerized finish overall. Bright wear is present on the muzzle and high edges. There are some light handling marks and a few small verdigris spots. Grips are excellent with a few light scratches and dings. Non-factory numbers stamped on lower rear grip strap. The holster is good with some cracking around the belt loop and verdigris around the hardware. Mechanically excellent.
