Description:

This revolver was manufactured in 1900. This model is commonly referred to as the "Philippine" or "Alaskan" model. The Model 1902 has a heavier mainspring to ensure that the hammer would fire the government .45 cartridges. These revolvers also have a lanyard loop on the butt, standard blade front and frame grooves sights, Rampant Colt grips, and standard markings. Rinaldo A. Carr's initials "R.A.C" inspection marking is on the left side of the trigger guard at the front, the rear of the cylinder, and the frame just above the left grip panel. "US" is on the right side under the cylinder, and "1902" is ahead of the right grip at the bottom. John T. Thompson's inspection mark "J.T.T." is stamped on the right above the grip. The grips are numbered to another gun. The serial number on the loading gate, cylinder, and butt match.

Rating Definition:

Fine. The revolver retains 30% plus of the original blue finish and has brown patina, light oxidation, and some light pitting on the balance. The grips are very good with moderate wear and an aged tone. The action is fine and the markings are crisp.
