Description:

Manufactured with a blade front and frame notch rear sight. The top of the barrel is marked with the two line Hartford address and patent date (1884-1895) with "COLT D.A. 38" on the left side and two stamped "P"'s on the underside. "RAC" stamped on the left side of frame, cylinder, bottom of barrel and the bottom of both grip panels. "1648" on the cylinder latch, frame and crane. "K" is also present on cylinder latch. Standard U.S. Army model markings on butt with a lanyard ring.

Rating Definition:

Very fine overall. The revolver retains 75% plus bright original blue finish with light surface rust present on front of cylinder and frame. The grip straps have a smooth gray patina. The hammer and trigger have vivid niter blue finish. The grips are fine with some scattered dings and scratches with wear along the edges. Mechanically fine.
