This tanegashima was likely produced in the 19th century during the late Edo period. The musket has no visible markings aside from some light designs on the various floral inlays. It has raise blade and groove sights and a smooth stock.

Fair. The barrel has been cleaned to a light gray patina and has extensive moderate pitting overall. The brass has an attractive aged patina with a damaged inlay on the right side of the buttstock. The wood is very good and only has a few small scratches and pressure marks along with a scuff and small chip on the butt. It mechanically needs work.
