Both bayonets feature single fuller yataghan profile blades, ribbed brass hilts and spring-loaded mounting hardware. 1) Schnitzler & Kirschbaum bayonet, 27 1/2 inches overall with a 22 1/2 inch blade marked "S&K" and an iron guard marked "G424". 2) 1861-dated bayonet, (possibly for Whitney Plymouth Rifled Musket) 30 1/4 inches overall, 25 1/2 inch blade, brass guard, "2934" marked hilt, and a brass and leather sheath.

Rating Definition:

1) Good with a mixed brown and gray patina on the blade and guard, dark brass, and scattered spotting and handling marks. 2) Very good. The blade is bright overall with the tip rolled to the left and concentrated pitting and darkening in that area and a mixed brass patina. The scabbard is incomplete. The hardware is stuck, and the sheath is worn and missing components.
