This excellent rifle is from the personal collection of publisher and entrepreneur Robert E. Petersen. Petersen of course was the publisher of a large number of magazines including Guns & Ammo, Motor Trend, Hot Rod, as well as other outdoor and car related publications. Petersen was known for his extensive firearms collection, a 400 piece portion of which is on permanent display at the NRA museum in Fairfax, Virginia. Manufactured in 1971, this rifle has a ramp front sight with provisions for a hood and a raised windage adjustable notch rear sight. The underside of the barrel is fitted with a sling swivel eye. The rifle has standard markings including "-SUPER GRADE-" on the floor plate as well as a small marking on the right side near the breech reading "450 G&A S.M." indicating a conversion to the .450 G&A (Guns & Ammo) Super Magnum and is interchangeable in this rifle with the standard .458 Win Mag cartridge. Extended magnum cartridges were a personal hobby of Mr. Petersen during his time as publisher of Guns & Ammo. The bolt and magazine follower are jeweled. The pistol grip stock is checkered and has a blue steel grip cap, ebony forearm tip, inset sling swivel stud, cheekpiece and solid Winchester recoil pad.

Excellent overall with 95% plus original blue finish, some very light edge wear near the muzzle, scattered light handling marks and a slight plum cast to the bolt handle. The wood is excellent with some small indentations and a few heavier bruises and scratches near the butt. Mechanically excellent.
