The cooperative effort of three master craftsmen; Gene Simillion (metalwork), Steve Billeb (woodwork) and John Vukos (engraving / gold-inlay), this stunning example of custom gunsmithing and stock making is built on a Mauser Model 98 action with a medium weight barrel. Features a hooded high blade front sight with a hood and a unique rear peep sight, fabricated to install onto the mounted Talley square-bridge scope bases. The clever adjustable peep sight properly stores quite handily in the trap butt-stock when a scope is mounted in place. The barrel is fitted with a single mid band with a sling swivel eye and features inlaid gold bands at the muzzle and breech. The caliber designation is gold inlaid on the left side at the breech. The action is brilliantly polished with a deep blue finish, polished bolt with dark blued extractor and a smooth polished blue handle. With a two position bolt mounted safety finished in a fiery nitre blue. The bolt shroud is casehardened. The floor plate, trigger guard, grip cap, and scope rings feature flourishes of tight scroll engraving with bold gold inlay accents. Mounted on a highly figured English walnut pistol grip stock with fine multi-point checkering at the forearm and grip, casehardened grip cap with small trapdoor, blue inset sling swivel eye, shadow line cheek piece and a vibrantly casehardened steel buttplate with trapdoor and more tight scroll with gold-inlaid accents. Includes issue No. 84 of "Gun maker: THE JOURNAL OF CUSTOM GUNMAKING" from the American Custom Gun makers Guild which features this rifle on its cover and lists the several custom makers involved in the creation of this incredible masterpiece.

Very fine as professionally built and finished by the artisans listed above with 99% plus of the blue. With minimal light handling marks. The casehardened areas are vibrant. Some light cycling marks are present on the bolt and action. The wood is very fine with wonderful figuring and bold, dark mineral lines. With very light minimal surface handling evidence and faint indentations near the butt. Mechanically excellent.
