Description:

Introduced in 1936, the new pattern of SS dagger supplemented the original 1933 dagger with the caveat that the '36 pattern was intended specifically for those considered to be an "SS Man", an officer or a minimum 3-year enlisted veteran. Measuring 13 5/8 inches overall with the 8 5/8 inch double edged spear point blade showing the acid etched "Meine Ehre heisst Treue" (My Honor is Loyalty) motto on the obverse and no markings on the reverse. Nickel finished alloy cross guard and hilt marked "P.A." on the interior, with a reversed "4" on the blade tang and the SS rune medallion and national eagle inlaid into the ebony grip. The sheath is black enamel finished with nickel fittings showcasing the distinctive swastika patterned middle band and chain hanger (2 links front, 4 links back) showing alternating sig runes and death's heads on the links and the "crossed bolt" rune on the rear of one of the front links.

Rating Definition:

Very good with some light wear along the cleaned blade edges, a few dings on the grip, a small mended chip on the obverse side near the guard, some scuffs and dents on the sheath and some mild handling marks. The suspension clip is bent slightly and missing the spring.
