Description:

Produced without a serial number or proofmarks, this 1907 pistol has been extensively cut about the frame, bolt and barrel, exposing the internal mechanisms, giving great views of the trigger mechanism, hold-open, internal magazine, and the locking lug arrangement for the barrel. Typically produced in-house by arms manufacturers, cut-away firearms were an essential tool for training the manufacturer's own employees, military armorers, and others in the function of the weapons they would be building and maintaining.

Rating Definition:

Very fine. The steel shows an evenly aged untouched gray patina overall, that is consistent across the surface and in the cuts and some minor handling marks and spotting overall. The left grip panel shows a crack between two of the cutouts, but otherwise the grips are fine. The hold-open spring is cracked, causing the bolt to drop when the follower is depressed, but otherwise the pistol is mechanically fine for demonstration purposes.
