Description:

This is a very fine example of a restored DWM Model 1908 Imperial German Navy Luger. These were the standard pre-WWI Navy Luger issued to the Imperial German Navy all the way through WWI and even into the Weimar era. This wonderful Luger has all matching numbers except the magazine which is a correct Navy version. The top of the chamber area is undated and it has the standard "DWM" logo on the front toggle. The barrel extension has the smaller Imperial "Crown" firing proof followed by a double "Crown/M" acceptance proof marks. The underside of the barrel also has a single "Crown/M" acceptance proof with a single "Crown" proof on the left side of the barrel, which is also stamped on the left side of the breech block. It has the standard military style serial number placement with the full serial number (2084) stamped on the underside of the barrel, front of the frame and the underside of he barrel extension. The various smaller parts are stamped with the last two digits (84). This model of Navy Luger does not have a grip safety and it has the second version safety markings with "GESICHERT" in the upper position. It has the desirable 6 inch Navy barrel along with the two-position Navy rear sight. This scarce Luger is complete with one original pre-war Navy commercial magazine with the nickel plated magazine body with the wooden base that has the concentric circles on the ends. The base is stamped with an inverted "Crown/M proof mark/2116". It is also stamped with a reissue serial number "922" on the spine of the magazine.

Rating Definition:

Very fine with 98% of the professionally restored blue finish overall with no visible wear. The smaller parts retain 98% of their restrawed colors. The markings are clear and sharp with nice square edges. The grips are also in very fine condition with nice sharp checking overall. A really nice looking early 1908 DWM Imperial Navy Luger pistol.
