Description:

This is a very early example of a standard DWM Model 1900 Luger pistol. These were the fist commercially manufactured Luger pistols produced by the DWM factory and were sold in both the U.S. and throughout Europe. It has the blank chamber "DWM" monogram on the front of the toggle, "Crown/B", "G" and "U" proofmarks on the underside of the barrel and does not have any "GERMANY" export markings. The latter indicates this pistol was sold in Europe. The left side of the barrel extension and front of the toggle are stamped with just the "Crown/B" and "U" proofs. The breechblock has a partial "Crown/U" proof. It has the early features such as: the dished toggles with toggle lock, smaller grip safety, recessed bolt and long 4 3/4 inch fast tapered barrel. It has the early style narrow trigger and the wider safety lever with the coarse checkering. It had a high polished blue finish with the straw colored small parts, the polished lower safety position and the first type checkered safety lever. It is fitted with checkered walnut grips and is complete with an original early nickel plated magazine with an unmarked wood base.

Rating Definition:

Very fine as professionally restored with 98% of the blue finish overall and only edge and high spot wear. The smaller parts retain 90% of a fading straw colors overall. The grips are also in excellent condition with nice, distinct checkering on both sides, minor handling marks and one small pressure dent directly behind the magazine release. Mechanically excellent.
