Description:

Both bayonets measure 20 1/2 inches overall, with 16 inch single fuller blades that are blued across the base of the ricasso and polished for the rest of the length, "US/(serial number)" on the right ricasso, "S A/(flaming bomb)/(date)" on the left, blued steel hardware and ribbed wood grips. 1) Springfield bayonet, serial number "628890", dated "1915". With a blued steel fitted brown leather sheath, stamped "R.I.A./1910./E.P" on the rear with a brass lined drain hole at the tip. 2) Springfield bayonet, serial number "646827", dated "1916". With a canvas covered leather tipped sheath with a rawhide inner body and steel throat.

Rating Definition:

Both are excellent, with some light handling marks and spotting overall, patches of gray and brown patina on the blued steel components, and some dings on the wood. The leather shows mild scuffing and dark spots, and the hanger of sheath #1 rotates a full 360 degrees.
