Manufactured in 1919 as part of Great Britain's second contract with Colt for a 455 Eley-chambered Government Model Pistol. In addition to the two-line/two-block address and patent dates, Rampant Colt and "COLT AUTOMATIC/CALIBRE 455" on the slide and "GOVERNMENT MODEL" on the frame, the pistol shows "crossed pennant" proofs on the slide and frame, a Broad Arrow and "R.A.F." ahead of the slide stop and a "crown/G2/A" (G.W.R. Steadman, assigned to Colt in April of 1918) stamp above the magazine catch. A series of thee Birmingham proofs, "BV", "BP" and "NP" are on the right side of the chamber, which is properly grooved on the underside of the hood for the semi-rimmed 455 cartridge, and the right side of the frame is marked "BV", "MADE IN U.S.A." and "NOT ENGLISH MAKE". "E" is present on top of frame behind the disconnector. Fitted with a pair of checkered grips. In an unmarked hardwood case with two extra magazines. All three magazines have lanyard staples and are marked "CAL . 455/ELEY" on the bottom.

Rating Definition:

Very good as Arsenal refurbished with 98% of the black Arsenal dip finish showing some mild edge wear and scattered handling marks. The rear of the slide catch has been grooved for the spring plunger. Grips are good with dents and minor gouges. The custom case is good with some light wear. Mechanically very good.
