Description:

Manufactured in 1942, this Model 1903 pistol was procured by the U.S. Government and transferred to Great Britain through the Lend-Lease Act by way of the Birmingham Proof House. Exact details are unknown, but Colt 1903s and 1908s so transferred were known to be issued as officer's sidearms and given to agents of the Special Operations Executive. Fixed sights, the two-line address and patent markings on the left side of the slide, the Rampant Colt behind the serrations, and the two-line caliber marking below the ejector port. The left side of the frame is stamped with the Ordnance "crossed cannons" cartouche and "U.S. PROPERTY" is on the right above a "crown/BNP" and a "crossed scepter" proof. The "BNP" is repeated on the right side of the slide and chamber; the latter is also marked ".32 .675/12 TONS PER (square inch)". Fitted with a pair of silver medallion checkered grips and a full-blue commercial marked magazine.

Rating Definition:

Excellent with 98% plus of the parkerized finish showing some light handling marks overall. A conjoined "BR" is scratched into the left side of the slide, and a few small dents are present on the right side of the slide and front strap. Grips are good with some scuffs, dents and verdigris. Mechanically excellent.
