Description:

This is a nice example of a mid-WWII Colt M1911A1 pistol made in 1943. The right side of the frame is stamped in two lines with "UNITED STATES PROPERTY", the serial number and "M1911A1 U.S. ARMY" forward of the slide stop hole. The left side of the frame has US ARMY "G.H.D." stamp with a single "P" proof. The left side of the slide is marked with the two block, two line address, patent dates with the Rampant Colt in the center. The barrel is Colt marked and "P" proofed. Fitted with checkered plastic grips. Complete with one magazine with blued finish and stamped with "L" on the top of the floor plate lip.

Rating Definition:

Very fine overall with 90% of the original late war parkerized finish with wear on the edges and high spots, and some finish loss on the front end of the slide and frame extension. The grips are in excellent condition with nice checkering showing minor handling marks. Mechanically excellent.
