The left side of the trigger guard is marked with the standard Colt "VP" verified proof, and the frame is spuriously marked "G.H.D." The right side of the frame is marked with the serial number and a spurious crossed cannons Ordnance Department cartouche. The government markings appear to have been added sometime after regular production. Features a polished blue finish, serrated contoured mainspring housing, short stamped checkered trigger, wide checkered hammer spur, long grip safety and checkered plastic grips.

Rating Definition:

Very fine as remarked (see above) with 90% plus of the original polished Colt blue, some small areas of light edge and high point wear, light handling marks and thinning blue in the grips strap area. The grips are excellent with some light handling marks and areas of slightly rounded checkering. Mechanically excellent.
