Description:

Manufactured in 1918. Finished in a factory dark, almost black brush military finish, thus causing the nickname "BlackArmy". Fixed sights, with the two-line, two-block Colt patents and address on the left side of the slide, the Rampant Colt between the blocks and "H" above the slide stop. The left side of the frame is marked "UNITED STATES PROPERTY" and "eagle head/S16". Fitted with a long smooth trigger, checkered wide hammer, flat top rear sight, short grip safety, checkered slide catch and thumb safety, smooth flat mainspring housing, checkered diamond walnut grips, unmarked two-tone magazine and a conjoined "HP" marked barrel. Included with the pistol are four extra magazines, two Mills canvas magazine pouches, one unmarked leather magazine pouch, a U.S. RIA holster dated 1914 with a swiveling hanger and a February 1918 dated operations manual.

Rating Definition:

Fine with 40% of the original blue/black military brush finish, showing significant pitting on the right side of the slide and frame, corrosion in the protected areas and internals, and a mottled color overall. Grips are good with some dents and scuffs. Mechanically excellent. The magazines show some rust and wear, but otherwise, the accessories are fine. Looks like this came right out of an attic!
