The wonderful Parker Brothers shotgun is one of approximately twenty known Parkers to have been built with 28 inch Damascus steel barrels in 28 gauge. With a single bead sight on the solid matte rib marked "PARKER BROS MAKERS. MERIDEN CONN. DAMASCUS STEEL." With standard proofs and markings on the barrel flats. The chambers measure 2 1/2 inches, and it has open/modified chokes. The water table is marked with the two-line patent dates on the right and "2/114341/G" on the left. The casehardened frame features standard "G" grade engraving of game bird scenes on the sides and bottom with flourishes of floral scroll bordering. The trigger guard, tangs, and break lever are similarly engraved. Mounted on a dark oil finished multi-point checkered splinter forearm, with engraved hardware, a pistol grip stock with a hard rubber Parker Brothers grip cap, and checkered hard rubber Parker Brothers "Dogs Head" buttplate. Shotgun measurements are: Bore diameter 9 inches from the breech .554; wall thickness 9 inches from the breech .042; drop at comb 1 29/32 inches; drop at heel 2 21/32 inches; cast off 1/8 inches; toe in 3/8 inches; length of pull is 13 3/8 inches. Overall weight is 5 lbs. 11.6 oz.

Fine as partially refinished with most of the restored brown finish on the barrels but showing incredibly strong Damascus patterning throughout the length, with some very minor dings near the muzzle and a very thin protective varnish coating on the barrels. The frame has small areas of muted original case colors mostly in the protected areas. Markings and engravings clear and well defined. The wood is very fine as professionally restored and finished with a varnish finish, with well defined checkering and some scattered light handling marks and indentations. Mechanically excellent. This is an exceedingly rare gun in any condition, and this particular example would be a wonderful addition to any advanced Parker collection.
