Manufactured circa 1969 to 1972 and subsequently masterfully relief engraved and gold inlaid by Robert Strosin of Wisconsin Rapids, Wisconsin. Robert has been engraving since 1978, is a Certified Professional member and past President in the Firearms Engraver Guild of America and President and Treasurer of the Firearms Engravers Guild in Wisconsin Rapids, Wisconsin. This revolver is beautifully decorated with relief floral vine engraving with a stippled background covering the barrel and lug, frame, cylinder flats and trigger guard. The sides of the barrel rib and top strap have a scallop border and the front sight ramp is decorated with the same pattern. There is decorative gold inlaid design around the barrel markings on both sides of the barrel and a gold inlaid band on the muzzle. The frame has gold inlaid wire and decorative bordering and there is gold inlay wire bordering around the cylinder flutes and a band around the rear. An information card with the revolver states that there is 40 1/2 inches of gold wire inlays and 1/2 inch by 1/2 inch of sheet gold. The revolver retains the standard "SMITH & WESSON" left side and ".357/CTG." "HIGHWAY/PATROLMAN" right side barrel markings. The remaining markings are absent. The revolver is blue with casehardened hammer and trigger, ramped blade front and adjustable rear target sights and fitted with checkered walnut grips with S&W medallions. The revolver is complete in a beautiful custom maple case with hunter green fitted lining. The inside of the lid is decorated with contrasting maple floral design inlays. The hinges and lock plate have the identical engraving as the revolver. In the case is a cherry handled cleaning rod, bore brush and screwdriver, two keys, one engraved with the same design and a six round bullet block.

Master embellished by Robert Strosin. The revolver retains 95% blue finish. The high areas of the relief engraving have been polished to give the engraving an attractive French gray appearance. The hammer and trigger retain 99% bright case colors. The grips are as new. The case and all the accessories are excellent. A beautifully relief engraved Model 28 revolver in a spectacular custom case.
