Manufactured circa 1964-65, this revolver has been engraved and gold inlaid, possibly as a law enforcement presentation piece. An engraved oak leaf pattern on a matte background covers nearly all of the metal surfaces. The engraving surrounds the caliber and S&W barrel markings as well as four line address on the right side of the frame. A gold inlaid border is featured on the frame and cylinder and two gold inlaid bands surround the muzzle. The right side of the frame has a highly detailed gold inlaid Fresno County deputy sheriff's badge. The base of the blade front sight is engraved with a floral scroll pattern that is also featured on the sides of the checkered top strap. The notch rear sight is adjustable. The grip straps are serrated. Casehardened checkered hammer and serrated trigger and fitted with nicely figured checkered S&W medallion grips.

Extremely fine as professionally embellished. The revolver retains 99% plus of the blue finish showing a few light handling marks. Nearly all of the case colors remain on the hammer and trigger. The grips are excellent with overall crisp checkering.
