This is an example of the height of Winslow Arms craftsmanship, The Emperor Grade rifle, a truly fitting title. Built on a Mauser style action. The barrel is manufactured without sights with deeply relief engraved and gold inlaid wedges of oak leaves and acorns near the muzzle. Features a full 6 inch wedge of highly detailed high relief oak leaves in gold inlay with a lightly textured punch dot background terminating at the receiver ring with a small gold inlaid buffalo. The receiver itself is stunningly engraved with high relief gold inlaid animals with a running elk on the right front, a big horn sheep on the left front and even a squirrel and duck at the right rear. This is all surrounded by intricate oak leaf and acorn scroll that has all been gold inlaid in a high relief. Mounted with scope bases and rings that have been engraved and inlaid to match with a goat on the front ring and a prong horn on the rear. The bolt handle knob has an inlaid gold bears head and the trigger guard features an inlaid deer. The stock work is just as elaborate as the metal with deeply carved basket weave checkering and delicate "S" scrolls and detailed oak leaves and acorns. Features contrasting black and white inlay on the sides, the classic Winslow "knights head" logo and a beautifully detailed leaping ram on the right side of the stock signed "N. HULTGREN" This is the signature of Nils O. Hultgren renowned stock maker and wood carver. Even the receiver screws on the underside are engraved with gold inlay. The stock features the Winslow signature swept pistol grip and roll over cheek piece with sling swivels and a vented rubber recoil pad. This is simply a work of art and a prime example of the gunsmiths craft.

Extremely fine as master engraved, gold inlaid and stocked with 99% of the almost black Winslow style blue on the barrel and action, and minimal light handling marks overall. The wood is very fine with attractive grain and figuring with some very small cracks in the high gloss finish at the corners of inlays and general light handling marks. Mechanically excellent. A truly rare find.
