Manufactured in 1907. Elevation adjustable beaded blade front sight and windage adjustable notch rear sight on the flat top frame, the two-line address and patent markings on top of the barrel, "OFFICERS MODEL COLT D.A. 38" on the left side, and "VP", "3" and the Rampant Colt on the left side of the frame. Fitted with niter blue pins, trigger and hammer, polished hammer sides, and a pair of checkered grips numbered "4070" on the inside to match the assembly number on the frame and yoke. The front strap is smooth, and the back strap is checkered; through 1908, the standard was for both to be checkered implying a special order feature.

Rating Definition:

Very fine with 95% of the bright original high polish blue finish showing some mild edge wear, spotting and handling marks. Some light scratches are present on the side plate and the right side of the frame. The cylinder latch is numbered "8773" and may be a replacement part. The grips are excellent with a few dings and crisp checkering. Full-cock is a bit stiff, but otherwise, the revolver is mechanically excellent.
