This is a nice example of a custom Winchester Model 1885 Hall Wall Rifle manufactured in or after 1920. The rifle is equipped with a heavy "H.M. POPE" marked barrel mounted with a Winchester A5 scope with fine cross-hair and dot reticle and fitted with an adjustable globe front sight. The receiver also has a folding peep sight. The right side of the original takedown type receiver has been cut down for ease of loading and is marked "H.M. POPE" on the edge. The bottom of the barrel under the forearm is marked "741/B2/LR/15.9/ .94/7.29.29/H.M. POPE". It is fitted with an oil finished checkered custom target forearm with a sling swivel and altered musket style straight grip stock with a high comb/cheek piece and musket buttplate.

Very good as custom built by H.M. Pope. The rifle retains 95% plus of the blue finish on the barrel and has patches of blue finish along with brown patina on the action. The wood is very good with some minor dings and scratches, crisp checkering, and a few small chips. The action functions excellently, and the optics are clear. The markings are crisp.
