This beautiful Model 1885 features a 22 caliber Griffin & Howe barrel manufactured without sights. An Unertl 9 power scope with recoil spring and adjustable rear ring is mounted on the barrel. The scope has screw on lens covers. The top of the barrel is marked "No 1841 GRIFFIN & HOWE INC NEW YORK". The left side is marked "R-2 LOVELL". The receiver is very nicely engraved with floral scroll and oak leaf design with a matte background. The left side of the receiver also has a wooded scene with a gold inlaid relief gopher in a round panel with a gold inlaid wire border and a wooded scene with four birds in flight, one gold inlaid relief, also in a round panel with a gold inlaid wire border. The engraving pattern extends to the lever. The upper tang is marked "---TRADE MARK---/-WINCHESTER-/--REG. U.S. PAT. OFF. & FGN.--". The dashes and "WINCHESTER" are gold inlaid. All blue finish with a jeweled breechblock and mounted with a nicely figured multi-point checkered walnut forearm with a horn forend and high comb pistol grip stock with an engraved metal grip cap, sling swivel studs, cheek piece, checkered metal buttplate and gold initial oval inscribed "MTM".

Exceptionally fine as Griffin and Howe custom embellished to near new with a couple of minor age cracks in the forend and overall some light handling/storage marks. A beautiful example of an engraved gold inlaid Winchester Model 1885 High Wall with Griffin & Howe top of the line embellishment.
