A) Very Fine Stevens-Lord No. 36 Pistol

Description:

This model was named after Frank Lord who was a prominent competitive pistol shooter in the late 19th century. An estimated 3,500 were produced between 1880 and 1911. The left upper barrel flat is marked with the two-line Stevens A & T address and 1884 patent date marking. It is equipped with blade front and adjustable notch rear sights. It is fitted with two-piece checkered walnut grips.

Rating Definition:

Very fine. The pistol retains 85% of the original blue finish, which is thinning in a few places, and 95% plus of the original nickel plating with some flaking at the edges. There are some small marks and scratches overall and some spots of light oxidation. The grips are very good with crisp checkering and minor marks. The action functions fine, and the markings are crisp.

Description:

Approximately 6,000 of these pistols were produced between 1884 and 1903. It has a bead style blade front sight, screw adjustable notch rear sight, the two line Stevens A. & T. address and patent marking on the upper left flat, a spurred trigger guard, serrated trigger, checkered walnut grips, and a weighted buttcap.

Rating Definition:

Fine. 25% of the faded blue finish remains along with 80% of the original nickel plating which has flaked in a few spots. There are some overall minor marks, scratches and some spots of minor oxidation. The grips are excellent with crisp checkering and only minor handling wear. The front of the grip base and the back strap pin have been filed flat. The action functions fine.
