Manufactured in the late 1880s, this rifle was designed for the then popular sport of gallery shooting. It is equipped with blade front and sporting rear sights (elevator absent), a smooth forearm, and a pistol grip buttstock with a Swiss buttplate. The standard three-line address and patent information is marked on the left side of the action, and the serial number is marked on the bottom. The matching serial number is also on the bottom of the barrel, rear of the forearm, and underside of the buttplate. The rear of the action is tapped for peep sight mounting.

About good as partially refinished (wood). The finish on the barrel has mostly faded and a brown patina has taken its place. The action has gray and brown patina along with some brighter sections and some visible patterns. The buttplate has traces of the nickel plating underneath and otherwise, an aged patina. The wood is good as refinished and has some small dents. The action is fine, and the markings are legible.
