This beautiful schuetzen rifle has "F. W. KESSLER SUHL" inlaid in the barrel at the breech and Germanic leaf engraving on the action, lever, and buttplate tang. The right side of the breechblock has "SYSTEM AL/1212 F. W. KESSLER." It is equipped with a winged blade front sight, an adjustable/detachable notch rear sight on a flared section of the barrel, an adjustable peep sight on the upper tang, and double set triggers. The stock has a horn forend cap, checkered wrist, high comb, and hooked buttplate. Sling swivels are mounted to the rear ramrod pipe and the bottom of the butt, and a metal ramrod/bore rod is fitted under the barrel.

Rating Definition:

Very fine. 75% of the thinning blue finish remains on the barrel. Some areas are fading to a brown tone. The gray components have some spotting and minor discoloration. The buttplate has some rough oxidation. The stock is excellent with most of the varnish with some crazing on the left side of butt, crisp checkering and only minor marks. The action and set triggers function fine. The engraving is nice and crisp, and the markings are crisp and very legible.
