Description:

An estimated 4,000 of these fluted cylinder Model 1860 Army revolvers were manufactured in 1860 to 1863. This example was manufactured in 1860 and features a low German silver blade front sight, standard one-line Hartford address on the top of the barrel, 1850 patent marking in one of the cylinder flutes, all matching serial numbers, shoulder stock cuts on the frame and back strap, and a smooth grip. The Model 1860 was the primary service revolver used by the Union Army during the Civil War. Many of the commercial production revolvers also found their way to the battlefields or were used on the home front to defend against or commit crime.

Rating Definition:

Very good. The right side of frame exhibits numerous scratches, dings, mostly contained to the rear half. The grip frame retains 60% plus of the original silver plating and has a deep, aged patina. The trigger retains strong original niter blue finish. The balance has gray and brown patina and patches of mild pitting. The grip is fine with moderate edge wear including a chip at the right toe. The action functions fine, and the markings are crisp.
