This is an example of a Colt Paterson revolver percussion capper which has the high relief Rampant Colt above crossed Paterson revolvers on the hinged lid. The lid is also high relief marked "COLTS PATENT" and "PATENT ARMS MANg Co PATERSON N.J." within a double line border. The inside of the capper and lid have the matching number "152". The lid is locked by a swivel bar on the back.

Fine overall. The exterior brass has an attractive aged patina overall. The interior retains 70% of its original gilt. The exterior has numerous light dings on the round body. A chance to obtain a rare Patent Arms Manufacturing Company Paterson Capper to add to your cased Paterson. These are rarely offered separately!
