Manufactured in 1879 and is a very fine example of a Colt Model 1877 "ejectorless" Sheriff's model DA revolver with the desirable etched barrel. The top of the barrel is marked with the two line address and the left side "COLT D.A. 38" in an etched panel. The left side of the frame is marked with the three line/three patent dates, the upper left rear of the trigger guard is marked "38 CAL.", and the matching serial number is marked on the bottom of the frame, trigger guard and back strap. The rear cylinder face is marked with the partial serial number "118" and the loading gate is marked with the assembly number "393". Nickel finish with fire blue screw heads, cylinder pin, release button and trigger, and fitted with a pair of smooth pearl grips.

Excellent. The revolver retains 97% plus of the original nickel plating with a scratch on the bottom of the barrel and small areas of loss particularly on the front edges of the cylinder. 80% original bright niter blue finish remains on the small components. The grips are excellent. The markings are crisp and clear. Mechanically excellent.
