Approximately 200 .32 caliber revolvers were manufactured out of a total of 166,849 Model 1877 revolvers manufacture between 1877 and 1909. This example falls within the correct 66000-121000 serial number range with the other surviving examples. It has blade and groove sights, the two line address on the top of the barrel, "COLT D.A. 32" on the left side of the barrel, the three line patent date and circled Rampant Colt trademark on the left side of the frame, matching serial numbers, assembly number "261" on the loading gate, and a smooth pair of mother of pearl grips.

About good with altered front sight. The metal surfaces display primarily a dark gray patina with light pitting. There are some traces of original blue finish in protected areas on the trigger guard. There are a series of scrapes on the barrel and some other minor deep gouges and marks on barrel. The grips have a mix of aged and iridescent tones and some small chips. The action functions very well, and the markings are mostly crisp. This is a scarce and desirable variation of the Colt Model 1877 DA Revolver!
