Description:

1) Left-handed dirk, 15 inches overall with a 9 5/8 inch etched blade, silver furniture, carved basket weave pattern grip and an orange stone on the pommel. A fork and knife set is present on the sheath, furnished to match the dirk, with pierced-through silver thistle panels on the throats, basket weave engraving on the tip and a leather hanger. Both the dirk and knife appear to be configured for left handed use, with the sheath throats set up to match. Hallmarks are from William Henry Lyde of Birmingham, registered in 1886. 2) Right-handed dirk, 16 3/4 inches overall with an 11 1/2 inch blade, double fullers and a filed spine, a basket weave grip, silver finished fittings, and a clear stone with copper colored backing on the pommel. With a leather sheath, knife, and fork.

Rating Definition:

1) Fine with some light handling marks. 2) Good with some spotting and flaking of the finish, a few absent accent pins, and cracking of the leather. The fair knife is a bit rougher in appearance.
