This is a beautiful cased set of Robert Wheeler & Son marked percussion pistols with accessories. The lock plate and hammer feature a handsome floral scroll engraving with the lock plate signed "ROBERT WHEELER & SON." The barrel has a Damascus finish and is marked "ROBERT WHEELER & SON MAKERS TO HIS MAJESTY" on the top flat. The nitre blue rear sight is adjustable. The breech plug is casehardened and features double inlaid silver bands. The hammer, lock plate and butt cap are also casehardened. It if fitted with a slide hammer safety and set trigger. The floral scrollwork extends to the trigger guard and barrel tang. The half stock features a horn forend tip, silver thumb escutcheon and a single barrel wedge with silver oval escutcheons. Fitted with an ebony ramrod which is numbered "2026". The partitioned case has a Robert Wheeler & Son label on the inside of the lid and is lined in red felt. The case also holds the following accessories: mallet/ramrod, wad cutter, powder flask, oiler, nipple wrench, bullet mold, screwdriver, Eley cap tin and case key.

Excellent. The barrel retains 95% original brown Damascus showing some thinning to a gray. The action, buttcap and barrel tang retain 97% vivid original case colors. The trigger guard retains 98% plus of the original highly polished nitre blue finish. The stock is excellent showing a few minor handling marks. Mechanically excellent. The case is fine with some minor handling marks and minor wear to the lining. Most of the label remains with clear printing.
