This massive Dragoon size revolver is a variation on one of the Gasser patents. The frame and cylinder are engraved with florals on a matted background. The back strap and trigger guard have geometric line and dot engraving. The top of the barrel has leaf and vine decoration. Crown “V” proofs are marked and the serial number “3” is stamped on barrel, cylinder, and other parts. A small “21” is marked on the right side of the frame above the crown over “V” proofmark. Revolver has fixed sights. The Gutta Percha grips are cast in high relief with a hunter holding a revolver stalking a panther through a mountainous jungle. Butt has a lanyard ring. This serial number 3 revolver is the size of a Colt Walker and was doubtless made for promotion. Its massive size and decoration will make it a centerpiece in any European cartridge revolver collection or display of oddities.

Very fine. The revolver retains 95% original nickel finish showing some minor flaking turned to a brown. The engraving is crisp. The slightly undersized grips are also very fine with a small surface chip missing near the top (right panel) with a clearly defined relief scene. Mechanically excellent.
