The top of the barrel has the above retailer markings and "TRANTER'S/PATENT/37142" marked on the upper left of the frame with additional Tranter's patent markings on the ejector arm and various British proofs. "49" is marked on the rear cylinder face, bottom of the barrel, and loading gate.

Rating Definition:

Fine. The barrel retains 70% of the original blue finish while less than a quarter of the finish remains on the frame and trigger guard. The cylinder, ejector assembly, and loading gate display faded case colors. The exposed surfaces primarily feature a gray patina. There are various minor scrapes and marks including scrapes on the bottom of the barrel from the ejector rod head. The grip is very fine with crisp checking a few scattered light scratches. Mechanically excellent with clear markings.
