Description:

This is a smaller caliber, improved version of the Adams "Self-Cocking" revolver which first became available in the 1850s and has aspects of the later Beaumont Improved Adams revolver such as the spurred hammer. Unlike the standard Adams, it also has a sliding safety and a loading lever. It is equipped with blade and frame notch sights and is fitted with a one-piece checkered walnut grip with plain grip cap. The cylinder and frame are marked with the matching serial number along with "R" indicating this revolver was manufactured by Robert Adams rather than an outside licensed firm and has several English proofmarks. It comes in an unmarked fitted case with a bullet mold, wrench, cleaning rod, powder flask, and W. & C. Eley bag of caps marked "Made expressly for/ DEANE, ADAMS & DEANE'S/PATENT REVOLVER".

Rating Definition:

Extremely fine. 85% plus of the bright original high polish blue finish remains with some minor scratches, spots of oxidation, and minor handling marks. The grip is excellent with a few nicks in the sharp checkering. All of the markings are crisp. The case is fine, though well worn, and the accessories are fine overall with exception of a dent on the flask with some lacquer flaking off of the base. The action is excellent.
