Description:

First introduced in the 1850s, this Tranter patent revolver has "W. TRANTER'S/PATENT" on the loading lever. The right side of the frame is marked "No. "10557T". The top strap has a retailer marking: "PRITCHARD & SON." It has a checkered walnut grip and post and notch sights. A light floral engraving is featured on the frame and barrel. British proofs are found between each chamber at the rear of the cylinder. The partitioned case is lined in green felt with a paper label of unknown origin on the inside of the lid. The case holds the following accessories: two percussion cap tins, "W. TRANTER'S/Patent/LUBRICATING BULLETS" tin (empty), brass bullet mold, four extra percussion nipples, oiler, powder flask, cleaning rod, and nipple wrench.

Rating Definition:

Excellent. The revolver retains 95% bright original high polished blue finish with loss mostly contained to the trigger guard and butt cap. The grip is excellent with overall crisp checkering. Mechanically excellent. The case is fine with some separation on the lid, some minor handling/storage marks and some high spot wear on the lining.
