Description:

This is an excellent example of the very first Walther G41 rifle ever manufactured by the Walther factory. This example is not a prototype or tool room model but was instead probably a first production model and was probably intended to be retained in the Walther factory as it does not have the standard German Army proofs or acceptance marks. It has a no-date receiver that is stamped on the left side with only "WALTHER" inside the traditional banner followed by "G41", followed by serial number "1001" with no other proofs or markings. This example obviously has all the original, early type one parts, such as the fully machined receiver, bolt assembly and bolt or action cover. It has the original stamped trigger guard assembly, box magazine and stamped barrel bands. Each parts is correctly numbered "1001" and has the single Walther factory "Eagle/359 Waffenamt" proof. It is fitted with its original Walther walnut stock with the correct early black phonetic resin handguard. The stock is also correctly numbered "1001" on the underside, and it also carries no German Army proof or acceptance marks. The handguard is numbered on the left side with serial number "1001". This rifle is complete with an early cross-hatched unmarked leather sling, the original cleaning rod and front sight cover.

Rating Definition:

Excellent with 97% of its original blued finish overall showing only very minor wear on the top or sides of the action cover from cycling the action over the years. The stock and handguard are both in excellent condition showing only very minor handling marks on the underside of the stock. Mechanically excellent. Truly a superb example of the first G41 Walther rifle.
